Hello Everyone -

Thanks to all my Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter connections, especially current and former voice students including - Chelsea Skone, Jody Kruen, Adepero Okulaja, Sarah Karman, Aaron Fletty, Jean Keating, Leon Berrios, Ed Pettersen and more. 40 new Facebook connections in the past 2 weeks!

BTW - I'm thrilled that one of my sheroes, artist and author SARK, is now following me on Twitter :D You never know who you can connect with online!

NEWS

* I feel blessed by complements from my 2 audiences (Idle Hour bar + a song circle) at unexpected opportunities to sing my original songs at the Nashville Songwriter's Festival! It was an honor to learn from songwriters such as David Gibson, Stan Webb, Loretta Martin, Karen Reynolds (Writer's Block Radio) and Troy Martin, to have professional songwriters respect my songs and singing, and also to connect with amazing potential collaborators. More TBA....

* Here is a link to the lyrics of my original songs I sang:
No More Hicks n Hacks n Hogs, Elephant Perspectives, I Have a Chance, Meadow with No Dew + also Smart Girls Know Their Limits (co-written with Stephen Lu of Asian Media Access) which my Masterpiece Academy girls will sing on Sat, Aug 1st (cancelled).

* On Sat, June 20th I was able to attend the Vanderbilt Spasmodic Dysphonia Symposium, which was very insightful and also surprisingly missing information about how voice coaching can improve voices. I was glad to be able to share ways I've helped my voice students, and I'm honored that I've been requested to do a workshop for the Spasmodic Dysphonia support group at the Vanderbllt Voice Clinic.

* I am now offering a free sample 30 min voice lesson between now and July 30th for anyone with a voice disorder, such as Spasmodic Dysphonia. Any referrals will be thanked with a 15% bonus on the first package of voice lessons, for anyone who chooses to sign up.

* Plans are in the works to record a jazz EP with talented musicians Anthony Belfiglio on piano (Branford Marsalis, Kevin Mahogany) and Tom Larson on drums (Maki Suntikul, Delicious Blues Stew) Scott Trayer on bass, Jason Dumars on sax at Sound Stage Studios (Dolly Parton, India.Arie, Dixie Chicks !) + other recording collaborations TBA ....

* MY LAST PERFORMANCE WITH THE PACHA MAMAS - FRI, JULY 3rd (see below)

Thanks to Marquetta and Angela for my amazing experience with the Pacha Mamas. I will miss our time together. Although Angela is moving to Atlanta, Marquetta is staying in Nashville and continuing to offer her wonderful healing touch sessions, fun Zumba dance exercise classes, performing as an African dancer, and also as a dundun drummer with the LoveDrums. Contact Marquetta Dupree at 615-500-1444, qwetta@gmail.com. Marquetta and Angela of the Pacha Mamas will continue as a duo, collaborating on creating music with Masankho Bandha, and are not looking for 3rd vocalist.

Like former Pacha Mama, Vivian Slade, I will be focusing on my own music, and I will also be doing more work with kids. Stay tuned....

* Note: I'd like to take a moment to respect the lives and talents of Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, Billy Mays, and Ed McMahon - and send healing to their family and friends. May they all rest in peace.
